January 2013. Just passing through….I really miss those Dickies. I wore them everywhere, even though they were too big. You’ll probably see em in at least 50% of my adventure pictures…they came from a clothing swap in Eugene…one day I’ll find a replacement!
Had to share this one because I’m going to be in Malibu a week from today! Stoked!
Over the weekend I got this really deep feeling of accomplishment while looking at some old photos. Not like I’d achieved a huge goal or finally made a million bucks as an herbalist…it was a feeling in my soul, of my soul being fulfilled and alive and on the right course. This is the first time I’ve picked up a pen in 2 weeks. I’m heading to Phoenix for Thanksgiving week and have left a very cozy, comfortable, relaxed town in Northern California. I can’t quite pinpoint or gauge how I feel in this moment. I’m here now; I’m exhausted from all the journey since September 2nd when I left Austin, and especially right now, as I’ve been transferring between buses for 19 hours. Hey Everyone! I’m currently in Northern California, making my way by foot, thumb, planes, trains, and automobiles around the perimeter of the country and back East in time for the Winter Solstice. This is the first chance I’ve had to use a real computer that’s actually hooked up to the internet, and I hoped to post some entries from the last few weeks…but apparently I’m not meant to be technologically focused because I can’t upload the images of my writing. Let this serve as an update so that everyone knows I’m safe, happy, and continuing on the journey of a lifetime, despite having a flu-like situation. Once I embark on the next bit of traveling I’ll have time to write again and as soon as I get near a Mac I can probably get the posts up.
Now in Washington. This next adventure, part two of my 3 months of wandering, is beginning in Washington where I’ll help a very special friend birth her first child. After this week I’ll make my way quickly through Oregon (2 nights) then on to California. I’ll see some highschool buddies in Humboldt, some herb school buddies in the Sierra Nevadas (and hopefully get some Tumbler in Chico!), and then to San Fran for visits with a few different peeps from various phases of my life, hiking part of the Lost Coast Trail, then to AZ for all kinds of reunions, and on to Texas before back to Virginia. Since I’m still nomading it up I’ll keep writing and posting and I go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
